State of the banking industry

  • The current economic environment is still unstable especially in Western Europe, but there are some positive signs from the US and BRICS countries
  • Reduction of market uncertainties as key driver for positive performance
  • Market capitalisation of banks recovered significantly since the end of 2011, especially US banks and national commercial banks had a very good performance
